Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything — cropping, face detection, DPI embedding and print sheets — runs inside your browser using the Canvas API and an on-device model. Your photo is never sent to a server. After the page loads once, the tool works offline.

Will this guarantee my photo is accepted?

No. This is a formatting aid: it gets the size, framing and DPI right and shows guide lines for head position. It cannot judge biometric requirements such as expression, lighting, shadows, focus or glasses, and requirements change. Always confirm against the official source linked in the tool before paying any fee.

Does it remove or replace the background?

No. At this stage the tool does not do AI background removal, beautification or face edits. It fills any empty space around your photo with a plain colour, but it does not change the background already in your photo — so take the picture against a plain, evenly-lit wall in the required colour.

Why does the printed size matter, and what is DPI?

A digital image has a pixel count and a print density (DPI). The same 600×600 px image can print at 2×2 in (300 DPI) or a different size if the DPI is wrong. This tool embeds the correct DPI into the JPEG so your print comes out at the exact physical dimensions the authority requires.

Which countries and documents are supported?

Currently the US (passport and visa, 2×2 in / 600×600), UK, EU/Schengen visa, Canada (50×70 mm), Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, China visa (33×48 mm), India (Passport Seva 35×45 mm and Visa/OCI 2×2 in) and Singapore. Each has a link to its official source. More can be added on request.

What about head-size guides where no exact value is published?

Some authorities specify framing in words rather than an exact head height in millimetres. For those, the guide lines fall back to the widely-used ICAO 70–80% face-height range and the tool clearly flags that the value isn't from the official source. Treat those guides as approximate and verify before submitting.
