Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 June 2026 · Last updated: 24 June 2026

Zapptic (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a privacy-first service. This policy explains exactly what information we collect, what we don't collect, and why. The short version: we collect almost nothing because the tools are designed to work without us seeing your files.

1. The most important thing: your files never leave your device

Every Zapptic tool — image converters, PDF tools, face blur, watermark, passport photo, and all others — runs entirely in your browser using local JavaScript. When you drop a file onto a Zapptic tool, it is read by your browser, processed by code running on your device, and saved back to your device. At no point is the file transmitted to our servers or any third party. We have no technical ability to receive, view, or store your files.

2. What we collect

2a. Server access logs

When you visit any page on zapptic.com, our hosting infrastructure automatically records a standard web server access log entry. This typically includes: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the URL you requested, your browser's user-agent string, and the HTTP response code. These logs exist for security and operational purposes (e.g. detecting abuse or diagnosing outages). We do not use them to build profiles of individual users. Log retention is determined by our hosting provider's infrastructure defaults.

2b. Browser storage (localStorage)

Zapptic stores your theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser's localStorage. This is local to your device and browser, is never transmitted to us, and does not identify you. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

2c. Email (only if you contact us)

If you email us at support@zapptic.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your address with third parties.

3. What we do not collect

  • Your files — they are processed locally and never transmitted to us.
  • Analytics or behavioural tracking data — we do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any similar service.
  • Advertising data — we show no ads and use no ad networks.
  • Account information — there are currently no accounts on Zapptic. No login, no email required.
  • Cookies used for tracking — see Section 4.

4. Cookies

Zapptic does not set any cookies from our application code. We do not use session cookies, tracking cookies, or advertising cookies. Your hosting provider or CDN may set infrastructure-level cookies (for example, for load-balancing or DDoS protection) that are outside our control; these are strictly functional and contain no personal information about you.

See our Cookie Policy for full details.

5. Third-party services

We currently use one category of third-party service:

  • Hosting / infrastructure: our hosting provider handles network delivery of the site. They may collect IP addresses and request metadata as part of standard infrastructure operation. We do not share user data with them beyond what is implicit in serving web pages.

We do not embed social media buttons, third-party fonts loaded from external CDNs that track users, or any third-party analytics scripts.

6. Children's privacy

Zapptic does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because we collect essentially no personal information from any user, this policy applies equally to all visitors. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data security

Because your files are processed locally and we store no file data, the main security surface is our web server and any email you send us. Our site is served over HTTPS. We follow responsible security practices for our infrastructure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to support@zapptic.com.

8. Future changes — Pro accounts, payments, and analytics

Zapptic Pro (batch processing, priority support) is in development. When Pro launches, this policy will be updated to cover:

  • Account information (name, email) collected for billing management
  • Payment processing via a third-party payment processor (e.g. Stripe)
  • Session cookies for account authentication
  • Aggregate, anonymised analytics to understand usage patterns (if introduced)

The core principle will not change: your files will always be processed in your browser and never uploaded to our servers, on both Free and Pro plans.

9. Your rights

Because we hold almost no personal data about you, most data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure) are satisfied by default — there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have contacted us by email and wish us to delete our record of that correspondence, email us at support@zapptic.com and we will do so promptly. If you are a resident of the EU, EEA, UK, or California and believe we hold personal data about you, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the service materially changes (for example, when Pro accounts or analytics are introduced). The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. We will not make this policy less protective of your data without a prominent notice on the site.
