Why convert HEIC to PDF?
PDF is the format people expect for documents — receipts, signed forms, ID scans, homework. A HEIC photo of a page can't be opened on many computers and looks out of place attached to an email, whereas a PDF opens on every device and prints predictably. This converter decodes each HEIC on your device and places the full photo onto a single PDF page sized to the image, so nothing is cropped. Because the page is built from a JPG-encoded version of the photo, you can pick a quality level to balance sharpness against file size. It all runs locally — a real advantage when the document you photographed is sensitive.
HEIC vs PDF: the format differences
HEIC/HEIF is a photo format, not a document format — it's compact but can't be opened by most PDF readers, printers or document workflows. PDF is the universal document format: one page per photo here, sized to the image, openable and printable everywhere. Converting HEIC → PDF decodes the photo on your device and embeds it in a single-page PDF at your chosen quality.
